Ok. Thanks! If they paid better billing a Final, I would re-think how I bill! 😊 I have liked billing monthly (or as soon as someone discharges) as they tend to pay very timely!

I think Humana considers billing a Final with no Q code to be billing per visit, as we get reimbursed at a per visit rate rather than episodically.

Do you know if they pay better billing a final with no Q code vs billing per visit?

We bill Humana Medicare Advantage as well. We only send a Final with HIPPS/TAC but no Q code, as they were paying it as if it were an actual visit. Once we figured that out, we haven’t had problems getting paid correctly.

We haven’t had difficulty getting in touch with them, but have had problems getting our issues actually resolved – I can remember one claim a few years ago now that was reprocessed 7 times, and that was to try to get them to realize they overpaid us.

I bill to Humana and have no issues getting paid billing monthly/per visit. Just make sure to call and get auth before you bill. Auth number is 1-800-523-0023. The auth line is all automated, so try to have all the SOC date, diagnosis, HCPC codes (I use G codes), MD phone, # visits ready when you call (in case you didn’t already know).

We bill visits to Humana medicare plans. They say to do episodic but they don’t pay. Once we switched to billing visits, they paid.

Hi all

I was wondering if anyone is having difficulty getting paid by Humana (especially with the transition of claims between years and request for medical review).

In addition we are finding their customer service is difficult to get a hold of and difficult to hear.

Anyone else having these issues?

Thank you for your help.

Cindy
